Jasper

Meaning

Jasper is a  type of Chalcedony. Although it typically has a brown hue, it can also be found in grey, blue, white, purple, pink, red, orange, and yellow tones.

The Latin word "iaspidem" or the Old French word "jaspre" are the sources of the name Jasper, which meaning spotted or speckled stone.

The inclusion of a mineral, ash, or silt within the crystal's structure results in the speckles.

Although jasper can be found everywhere, the majority of examples come from India or Australia.
