Amazonite
All About Amazonite
Green to greenish-blue variations of triclinic potassium feldspar are referred to as amazonite. Green or blue-green stones typically have copper incorporated within their crystal structure.
In the case of amazonite, lead is most likely where its color originates. A role for iron, thallium, and rubidium is also possible. It's possible that a mix of molecular and environmental elements that can differ from stone to stone is what gives amazonite its distinctive color.
Though it bears the name of the Amazon River, the majority of the world's supply of amazonite does not originate there. The green stones that explorers discovered in the river were probably not genuine amazonite.
